March 2011 in the White Desert in Egypt.
We can finally announce our new event in 9J in the White Desert, Egypt, Sunday, February 27 Monday, March 7, 2011, with the possibility of returning Sunday, March 6 for those who want it to be confirmed, case by case, depending the departure airport). This race is built according to traditional mode of ‘la Piste des Oasis’, that is to say, with a selection of the most beautiful golf course of this unique region of the called “Libyan desert” (in Egypt ) are all different, so you can discover this part of the desert remains unknown to date. Lovers or deserts race this trip is for you. The landscapes are of high quality and usually reserved for areas remote from the central Algerian Sahara and Libya. The team ‘LA PISTE DES OASIS’.
- Dates: Sunday, February 27 to Monday, March 7, 2011 with a 9J travel. Departures will be on the afternoon of Day 1 at airports and set the return, J9, will be in the morning on them. Possibility to return Sunday, March 6. (available on request, case by case)
- The race course always on the basis of more than 100 km in 4 steps. They will be in the White Desert and successive. The usual day of rest has been moved at the end of the circuit to get the best program proposed and included visits to Cairo.
- Departures from France in Paris, Lyon and Nice.
- Departures also from London, Brussels and Rome (with special conditions (*)).
- Individual Rates: 1490 € if registration is confirmed before 30/11/2010. Plus 60 € then with deadline January 15, 2011.
- Rates small groups: € 1,460 if> 5 people (with file registration together. Rate valid registration if completed before 11.30.2010.
- Group Rates: 1440 € if> or = 10 people (together with record enrollment. Rate valid registration if completed before 30/11/2010.
- All benefits are included, excluding tips, visa took place at the airport in Solo (14 €), drinks and accession CAP AU SUD for 2011 (8 €). Only one package is offered in the evening to Cairo as an option for participants who wish to discover : “Sound and Light Show at the Pyramids”, followed by a dinner cruise on the Nile show: + 50 €. If back to Great Britain is done on Sunday, March 6, evening Saturday option is included.
- All rates are based on the basis of a double room to share. Single room supplement is not fixed today and will be subject to availability at 30/11/2010. There is no guarantee on all hotels in registration. Requests for single rooms and received the registration will be processed in order of arrival and confirmed only on 30.11.2011 after the closing date of the first registration period.
- The required deposit of 30% is 450 €. It is requested by check will be cashed and preferably during September 2010, when the final confirmation of the race. The balance will be due mid January 2011.
Program Summary:
Day 1 : Flights Europe - Cairo. Overnight in Cairo late arrival.
Day 2 : Cairo - Bahariya: Transfer in the morning. Lunch. Formalities and running tours on the oasis of Bahariya during the afternoon. Dinner and overnight.
Day 3 : Step 1, 23 km, Bahariya oasis. 2nd night in Bahariya. Following the discovery of the oasis. Dinner and overnight
Day 4 : Step 2, 21 km in the Black Desert. Picnic lunch. Then transferred to Farafra oasis for the 2nd night.
Day 5 : Step 3, 37 km in the White Desert. Picnic lunch. Camp in the desert for the night with dinner at the fireside.
Day 6 : Step 4, 23 km in the White Desert. Picnic lunch. Transfer back then Bahariya, the first oasis for the last night in the desert area. Lively evening with awards. Dinner and overnight.
Day 7 : Bahariya - Cairo: Transfer in the morning. Lunch on the site of the Pyramids. Guided tour of the afternoon on Pyramids area and transfer to hotel in Cairo for dinner and overnight
Evening option: Show "Sound and Light" at the Pyramids, followed by a dinner cruise on the Nile with entertainment. Transfer to the hotel afterwards.
Day 8: Cairo: Visit the Egyptian Museum in the morning for the whole group (leaving for the airport early in the morning for those who want a return on Sunday). Lunch afterwards in a restaurant near the museum. Then, towards the Souk Khan El-Khalili, the largest in Cairo to enjoy these last moments to purchase some crafts if you wish. Free program of discovery for those who want it. After an appointment in the afternoon, transfer to your hotel for a little rest. Dinner at the hotel. Rest
Day 9: Transfer to overnight at the airport. Return flight with connections to various destinations in Europe. Arriving in France in the late morning for Paris, Lyon and Nice in mid-afternoon. The magic of the White Desert
On the shores of the Libyan desert, the White Desert displays his sculptures of chalk in a depression plagued by sand.
In Farafra depression, the delusions of erosion speak more than anywhere else. The sand dunes running waves around the rock in infinite variations, define areas of pure beauty and classic.
This is one of the curiosities of the Egyptian desert Lybic. It stretches over 60 kilometers long (and almost as wide) between the oasis of Bahariya and Farafra Oasis. Surprising limestone formations eroded by wind emerging figures in the desert! An animal, a face, a giant mushroom, a meringue, you'd almost to the work of a sculptor ...
At dusk ones till sunset ignites the chalk is just magic! When it is dark rocks become luminescent under the stars .
Steps majestic
100 km of racing for you to discover the facets of an extraordinary region, four really different stages in spectacular landscapes and still magnificent.
First step:
23 km to find the oasis of life and enjoy the first dunes of the “Lybian desert”, with a small climb to reach the plateau overlooking the oasis view warranty.
The Bahariya Oasis is known as the Middle Empire for its wines and history has left numerous traces: the temples of the Pharaonic times with hundreds of mummies to the ruins of a Coptic church. Some visits are planned to take advantage of this evidence of a past rich history.
The layout of the stage alongside many cultures, nearly 300 sources (some hot, hot) irrigate the gardens and palm groves.
Step Two:
21 km to the center of the Black Desert, heavily eroded hills of basalt being assaulted by waves of pink sand, between the dunes and canyons. For those who love the great desert.
